In the U.S. there are roughly 15 million diabetics with 10 million of them having mild to severe forms of nerve damage. Almost 4.5 million diabetics suffer from nerve damage in the feet . Early detection of neuropathy is paramount to preventing further damage to the affected limb(s). Neuropathy is a leading factor in amputations, which can be avoided or reduced if neuropathy is detected early and limb care is promoted.
